Description
New 100% all 4130 Steel Sprint car axles 2-1/2’’ O.D. x .095 wall
Design Specifications of the New Smith Ti Sprint Car Front Axle:
1) Precision Honed King Pin Bores
Why? So we have 100% surface contact to eliminate the current king pin wobble, slop and wear problems. This alone creates the most precision castor camber axle in the market. King pin slop will change the castor camber more than 1 degree constantly during a race.
2) The Most Consistent Castor and Camber Axle on the Market
Our axle weld fixtures will repeat every axle within .5 degrees, meaning we have triple the consistency of any other axle available.
3) High Quality Axle Ends
Conventional axle ends have several problems. They need to be heated and then hammered around the king pin axle boss. This softens the material and changes its strength. With the material manipulation, you only get about 40 % weld surface effect.
Our axle ends are molded. This gives our axles 100% contact surface on king pin axle boss, because its all one piece.
Then we weld with a long weld over the O.D. of the axle, which adds even more strength!!
4) Race Ready!
They come standard with weld on nuts and tether tabs. Nothing else needs added. There is no extra work for you.
5) Durable Finish
They come standard with matte black powder coat.
Our axle with our steering arms uses a 46-1/4’’ tie rod for both the Eagle and Maxim type. A 46″ will work.
**Our NEW heavy duty shock stud went through a much needed re-design to ensure it’s strength when racing on rough racetracks. Our shock stud is 50% stronger than any other shock stud available with a 1/2 – 20 thread. Most thread-in style shock studs shear on the threaded section of the axle. We now use a .610 diameter solid round titanium shoulder as the shear point of the shock stud.
